Pensnett Diana began (and continues) as a photography project. Newly moved to Pensnett and keen to explore the area, I set out to capture it with a Lomography Diana F+ analog camera. I'm gradually putting these photos on Tumblr and in the longer term am aiming to exhibit them somewhere. Gradually I started to imagine a soundtrack to the scenes I was capturing, and the result of that is 'Wandering'.

Coming from the Walsall/Wolverhampton side of the Black Country, Pensnett has been a revelation. Where I grew up in Willenhall is smack in the middle of the urban splurge that makes up most of the area. It is heavily built up and there is very little open space in which to walk. Pensnett is still very much part of that large Black Country connurbation - its High Street is a busy trunk road and the gleaming white monolith of Russells Hall hospital sits on our doorstep. However there are two large nature reserves a few minutes walk from our house and the place has an undeniable touch of the rural. It doesn't take much imagination to see it as the country village it once was. This is my little instrumental soundtrack to a wander around the place that has become my home.
